ALL WHAT YOU WANNA KNOW ABOUT BODY SUGARING

IF YOU HAVE ANY FURTHER QUESTION PLEASE DON'T HESITATE TO CONTACT US
  • What is body sugaring?
It’s an ancient Arabic technique where a sugar paste & with a hand-flicking technique is used to extract unwanted hairs.
  • Is body sugaring the same as waxing?
No. In our opinion, it’s MUCH better! You have to experience it first & you gonna know what we are speaking about.
  • What benefits does body sugaring have over waxing?
It’s all natural, more hygienic, lasts longer, and can be less painful if done regularly. Sugaring doesn’t cause in-grown hairs! The treatment removes unwanted hair & provides body scrub at the same time. We don’t understand why anyone would wax either.
  • Why is sugaring so much less painful than waxing?
It is less painful for many reasons but the main ones are: 1. Unlike waxing – it Doesn’t attach to live skin cells and therefore no sheets of live cells are ripped off in the removal. 2. The hairs are removed from the base of the roots not from their ends making any discomfort extremely short lived. 3. Hairs are removed much shorter meaning there is less length in the hair to give any pull factor as the root systems are extracted
  • Sugaring Vs. Waxing
    1. NO risk of burning 2. NO chance of tearing skin 3. hair is pulled out in the natural direction of growth-minimizing breakage 4. requires less than half of the lenghts of hair 5. all natural; no harsh chemicals or resins 6. completely sanitary 7. safe for sensitive skin 8. less pain and irritation
  • Sugaring Vs. Shaving
    1. pulls the hair out from the root 2. NO chance of cutting the sking 3. leaves skin feeling smooth 4. lasts at least 10 times as long 5. upon regrowth hair is finer 6. leads to permanency
  • Sugaring Vs. Laser
    1. less time 2. less money 3. less painful 4. also leads to premanency 5. can be used on hair regardless of the type or pigment
  • How long does my hair need to be to get sugared?
For best results we recommend that hair is at least 2mm long. It is usually 10-14 days after your last shave or 1 month since your last sugaring or waxing session.
  • How do I prepare for my sugaring session?
We recommend arriving with clean, dry skin, sans any lotions or oils. Don't exfoliate your skin the day before your appointment.
  • What is in the sugar paste?
Sugar, lemon and water. That’s it. Seriously.
  • I have sensitive skin, will it cause me to breakout?"
No! It’s hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic (which means that it doesn’t block pores).
  • What temperature is the sugar paste?
It’s lukewarm, which means it can’t ever burn your skin.
  • I have tattoos- is that okay?
Definitely! Sugaring can actually help brighten tattoos.
  • Is body sugaring safe?
Yes, a ball of sugar is only used for one client and is discarded after a single use. Also, keep in mind that it’s very environmentally friendly too!
  • Does sugaring cause ingrowns?
No. Dead skin growing over the mouth of the follicle causes ingrown hairs. Improper technique, lack of exfoliation and improper knowledge of skin care are the main causes of ingrowns. HiSugars' professional practitioners are trained to use the proper pre and post extraction care. As well we educate our clients to use the necessary pre and post care to avoid ingrown hairs.
  • What about redness after body sugaring?
Momentary redness in the sugared area is an absolutely normal reaction. Redness is a natural skin reaction, caused by irritated follicles after the hair has been removed. If the skin has been treated correctly after the procedure (using post epilating lotion), this reaction disappears after 1.5-2 hours.
  • How long before hair re-grows after sugaring?
Generally sugaring hair removal lasts between 4-6 weeks, depending on the level of hair growth and on how regular you are sugaring. This varies from one person to another and is also depending on the body area. Hair growth will not necessarily be equally distributed and hair grows at different rates. Other factors play a role in hair growth as well, for example your genetics, your hormones, your lifestyle and the climate you are living in. Repeated sugaring treatments however weakens the hair system so re-growth gets sparser with time and can even lead to permanency.
  • How often do you suggest I get Sugared?
For areas below the waist, we suggest you get Sugared every 4 weeks. Areas above the waist grow at different rates. You may want to get your underarms done more often than once a month. Your arms hair may not need to be done as often.
