ABOUT OUR BODY SUGARING PASTE

Updated: Nov 3, 2023

You might have already know that our sugar paste is made only with natural ingredients which are sugar, lemon, and water. But what exactly these substances do to our body? Let’s check it out!

Sugar For Body Scrub

Sugar scrub has been used as a substitute for salt scrub ever since the spas found that they are easier to manage and can remove the outermost layer of dead skin cells, without causing pain. The reason is because sugar scrub can tremendously exfoliate dead surface skin cells and reveal the glowing, healthy-looking skin underneath. They are also less rougher and aggressive compared to salt scrub and a good choice if you have a sensitive skin. If you have had a salt scrub before, you might find it scratchy and uncomfortable. In the contrary, sugar scrub will give you minimal (if any) discomfort or irritation since the granules are generally gentler than salt. Moreover, sugar is a natural humectant, meaning it draws moisture from the environment into the skin. So when you apply these scrubs, they’ll actually help hydrate your skin and keep moisture within, which can strip skin of natural oils. The result? Your skin will feels soft, clean & comfortable.

Lemon As Astringent

Lemon is already well known as a natural source of Vitamin C and therefore, it is a good source of antioxidant for your skin. Other than that, Lemon can also be used to lighten sun and age spots and even out skin tone. Plus, it can even tighten skin pores and improve skin complexion due to its astringent effect. This is especially good if you have an oily skin type as it strips the skin of its natural oil. But don’t worry if you have a normal / dry skin type. We don’t use alcohol at all in our product, so it’s not gonna dry your skin excessively. In fact, it will provide a refreshing and soothing effect without stripping healthy oils from the skin.

Water As Hydration

The fact is that our skin is an organ and made up by cells, just like any other parts of the body. And skin cells, like any other cells in the body, are made up of water. Without water, the organs will certainly not function properly or at their best. If your skin is not getting the sufficient amount of water, the lack of hydration will present itself by turning your skin dry, tight and flaky. Dry skin has less resilience and is more prone to wrinkling. As water is lost in large quantities every day, you need to replace it somehow. The unfortunate truth about drinking water and skin is that water will reach all the other organs before it reaches the skin. So, it's important to apply water to our skin and keep it there - this will not only show a visible difference in hydration, but it can prevent wrinkles, as well. On top of that, It’s more beneficial to use water as solvent rather than alcohol. Alcohol used in skincare products are mostly isopropyl alcohol. It’s a harmful and unnecessary ingredients and has no nourishing qualities, which can lead to dry, flaky skin and actually exacerbate acne. It harms your skin’s protective surface, depletes vital substances needed for healthy skin, and makes oily skin worse. To put it simply, it’s pro-aging and can even irritate the skin.
